South Wood County Hunger Coalition Collects Donations during Miracle Minute

Although this year’s United We Can event on July 14th was successful in gathering over 9,500lbs of food to benefit food programs in south Wood County, the baseball game and subsequent Miracle Minute were rescheduled due to rain. The Miracle Minute took place Monday, August 2nd when Rafters fans demonstrated their generosity with donations totaling $631.75. The donation will be evenly distributed between six local food programs: Christian Life Fellowship Food Pantry, Nekoosa Backpacks for Kids, Rapids Family Backpacks, South Wood Emerging Pantry Shelf, The Family Center, and The Neighborhood Table.

About the South Wood County Hunger Coalition

The mission of the South Wood County Hunger Coalition is working together to reduce hunger.  An initiative of the United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties, the Coalition was created by local food providers, community programs, and community members who are concerned about hunger issues.  The Coalition comes together every month to fight hunger in our community by working collectively toward a common goal.
