United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties is now entering its eleventh year of partnering with FamilyWize – a prescription drug discount card that saves residents up to 75% on prescription costs. Thanks to this partnership, we are able to distribute cards at local government agencies, non-profit organizations and churches, etc. at no cost to us because of the FamilyWize media sponsors. “One of our goals is to keep money in the pockets of people who are struggling,” said Tari Jahns, United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties’ CEO. “Nobody should have to choose between life-saving prescriptions and putting food on the table. Using FamilyWize can help.”
How FamilyWize Works
FamilyWize helps uninsured – or underinsured – individuals save up to 75% on prescription drug costs. It is NOT an insurance card – it is a discount card. Anyone can use it; there are no age or income restrictions. FamilyWize partners with nearly all pharmacies nationwide to negotiate prescription discounts so clients receive a lower price. You can visit www.familywize.org to use their “Drug Price Lookup Tool” to find out if your medications qualify.

How to get YOUR FamilyWize Card
FamilyWize Cards can be found at several locations in south Wood & Adams Counties, including the United Way office at 351 Oak Street, Wisconsin Rapids. It can also be found in the “Help Guide for South Wood County” and “Help Guide for Adams County.” We encourage community members to pick up several copies of the card and hand them out to family and friends who could also benefit.
We have downloadable versions posted on our website at www.uwswac.org/familywize. You can select from an English or Spanish version. You can also text “family” to 700700 or download the FamilyWize Mobile App from iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
